About Us - The Benefit Store


	We're a local charity that benefits Children's Medical Center of Dallas. We receive office furniture daily and usually have a wide selection that can accommodate any budget.
	The Benefit Store was founded in 1986 and has received donations from thousands of business. The Benefit Store also helps supply thousands of businesses around the metroplex with their furniture needs. As a result, The Benefit Store, is a multi-million-dollar fund raiser for Children's Medical Center of Dallas. Call The Benefit Store for arrangements to pick up your donation. We furnish you with a complete computer inventory printout containing each item. The Office of Development at Children's (nonprofit organization 501 C3) will also acknowledge the donation immediately afterwards.

	Children’s Medical Center Dallas is private, not-for-profit, and is one of the largest pediatric healthcare providers in the nation. As the only academic health care facility in North Texas dedicated exclusively to the comprehensive care of children from birth to age 18, Children’s provides patient care ranging from simple eye exams to specialized treatment in areas such as heart disease, hematology-oncology and cystic fibrosis. In addition, Children’s is a major pediatric kidney, liver, intestine, heart and bone marrow transplant center. As the primary pediatric teaching facility for The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, the medical staff at Children’s conducts research that is instrumental in developing treatments, therapies, and greater understanding of pediatric diseases.

	Children’s traces its origins to the summer of 1913 when a group of nurses, led by public health nurse May Forster Smith, organized an open-air clinic on the lawn of the old Parkland Hospital. The nurses recognized that children received better care when it was focused only on them. The clinic grew into the Bradford Hospital for Babies, which merged with Children’s Hospital of Texas and Richmond Freeman Memorial Clinic in 1948 to form Children’s Medical Center of Dallas.
